I like marrying a local and then sending the kids to explore their heritage on a vacation I love playing an archaeologist and I love that there’s a Selvadoradan culture skill as well with its own dance. Paired with vampires you can make a really destitute looking build. I love the distinct feel of it, particularly the build/buy stuff. I can see why people say it isn’t replayable, but because there’s something wrong with me I have replayed it multiple times. I don’t care I love Strangerville, the world is a lot of fun to me because it has its own stories and quirky culture With Snowy Escape it makes a great vacation world I have never been a mermaid and can’t see the point It’s kind of fun to clean up the island and see it change but it’s not that replayable. It’s beautiful, fun to build in, there’s stuff to interact with in the world, and it has a strong sense of culture and community so that even when my sims move it feels like they’re ‘from’ somewhere. I love Sulani a lot and frequently play there. Some of the black textures in CAS are blacker than other black textures which can be frustrating The little town square is a great hunting ground and I like that it includes chess sets Forgotten Hollow is tiny but if you’re going to be a vampire it’s the best place to be. Best vampires in any sims game, so much fun to play I like the multicultural environment and the festivals. I like that I can eat food at the stalls and then make it at home. It’s a biggish world with a lot of personality that I use frequently. I would list this pack as essential if university didn’t take sooooo long I have to switch to long lifespan for it to take a realistic amount of time in-game The build/buy and CAS is amazing and almost essential. Gives me something for teen sims to aspire towards so there’s a reason to play with teens. I also like the university clubs but they’re a bit hard to level up in on top of doing homework every day. The world of Britechester is fantastic, I just wish it were bigger. It integrates content from other sims packs really well. I actually like it better than Sims 3 university – I like having the choice of two fully realized institutions to study at, and a wide variety of university majors.

If Snowy Escape and Seasons were combined into one pack it would be –chef’s kiss- magnifique. Also please leave me alone fake santa, who invited you to break into my house? You’re not even real santa. Some holidays like Neighbourhood Brawl only exist to be immediately cancelled. I’m less hyped about it than other players because I get annoyed designing my own holidays at the beginning of every new save because I don’t like the existing ones. The calendar can be combined with the clubs to give a sense of community, religion, culture, and tradition if you want those aspects of lives represented. Calendar system is an innovation on the same level as the clubs from Get Together and almost makes Seasons ‘essential’ to me. Vacationing in residential worlds is a great addition to the game that I will use constantly. It might not have much building space but it has a lot of space to explore which I appreciate because I can go off-lot without going off-lot. Beautiful world that feels alive with its own culture and history with so much to do and see. It’s very early days but lifestyles is a fantastic addition that should have been in the base game and helps make gameplay feel more meaningful without becoming a celebrity or occult. I wish it was a whole expansion with waaay more content and its own world. Some content that came with stuff packs might have paired well. While the content it does have is perfect, I feel it could have more. Adds a feeling of connection and consequence to family interactions that is fun in a regular save and can also be used to give a sim a tragic backstory Adds more traits my sims can earn through their actions We rarely get something this different from other games, almost never get something markedly better. This is the kind of innovation the fourth sims game should be bringing to every pack, frankly. Club system that I use in every save and is one of the best features ever implemented in any sims game because of its versatility. Large, beautiful world I use in most of my saves. I like anything that seems to add culture to my sims lives. I also like good family gameplay, lots of activities to do off the home lot, playing scholars exploring and documenting the world, and weird/supernatural/creepy gameplay. For my own gameplay, I care the most about new worlds that have strong vibes as well as features that add depth to my sim's personality or community. I think it's interesting that we all have different favourites when it comes to Sims 4 packs.
